“I started to do this painting on top of a canvas which I had done some other art, a few years before. I was feeling pretty anxious and excited at that time because of new experiences that I had going on in my life. I wanted to make a big canvas because I hadn’t painted one in a long time. I could still see some of the marks that were there from before, so I painted in the shadows that I could see were already there. I could see the shadows and the highlights, but sometimes it looks like a certain color. So I might see a darkish blue, or a soft pink color and I paint it like that. It’s not about making it look like something, just using what’s already there and then everything else just gets in there. I am proud of how this painting came out cause I took this canvas and I turned it into how I wanted it to look.”
